[theqoo] THE MOST SHOCKING PART OF CBX'S CONTRACT WITH SM

"'This Agreement shall be for a period of five years from .... However, if the minimum number of albums set forth in Article 4, Paragraph 4 is not released within the same period, the term of this contract shall be automatically extended until such time as it is fulfilled." There is no upper limit to the period of automatic extension.

The clause that the contract period is automatically extended until the number of albums released is met, with no upper limit, is clearly a slave contract, and our legal counsel pointed out that it constitutes an act of 'trading with the other party by unfairly exploiting the trading position', and the artists agree.

It is also unjustifiable to 'tie up' the artists by signing a follow-up contract for such a long period of time with no upper limit on the duration of the contract when the existing contract still has around 1 year left. SM has not even paid the artists a down payment for the contract extension."

1. I wonder if my bias has this kind of contract too.. I'm getting goosebumps

2. Wow a slave contract in the 21st century

4. Wow so it must've been heaven for them every time they delayed their plansㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ f*ck, they don't release any albums for their artists, send them on tours while taking their sales from goods, CFs and solo activities. And they do all of this without paying them for contract extensions. Having slaves must be f*cking nice

5. This is oba. Then what do they do if they are the ones pushing back their plans or if the plan gets pushed because of one member's personal issues?;;

6. SM's contract terms are just the worstㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

7. If this isn't a slave contract, what is it?

8. Even if they do this to protect both sides, it's a situation where one side is abusing it.

9. The reason why I'm doubting that they will come to an agreement is that SM keeps pushing back EXO's album release. EXO got their album pushed back way too much

10. I don't think that this is that shocking but.... there's definitely an issue with their payment terms
