Nam appeared as a witness for the Health and Welfare Committee's audit at the National Assembly this afternoon and emphasized the importance of rehabilitation treatment, saying, "It is difficult for (drug addicts) to quit drugs on their own."

“I was taking psychiatric medication for severe depression, but when I felt I had reached the plateau, I started using marijuana and eventually came into contact with meth. Currently, I am staying at a drug addiction rehabilitation facility called Incheon DARC.”

“When I entered that rehabilitation facility, I found out that I had a serious drug addiction problem, but most of the centers were operated with the director’s private funds, and government support was sorely lacking.”

“Because of people's drug addiction, the facility receives calls every day asking to "help them" or to "save them", but they are not at a capacity to accept them.”

“Drug addiction cannot be cured by simply going to the hospital for treatment, but 24-hour rehabilitation treatment is more important than anything else. I sincerely ask for government support.”

“I know there are many young people who are curious about drugs, but what I can tell you is that you should not touch them, not even try them once. Drug addiction cannot be treated alone, so I hope you have the courage to ask [others] for help.”

original post: here

1. Why would they use my money to save them??? Use your own money to do it

2. His influence is so weak

3. It's true that drug addicts need governmental support, but it's also dumbfounding that they're asking us to help them ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ They're the ones who were ready to spend hundreds to thousands to get drugs for themselves in the first place~~~

4. Yeah, do it with your own money

5. I can understand where he's coming from, but it's still ironicㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

6. What we really need is stronger governmental regulations

7. You can live in this country just fine if you didn't start doing drugs in the first place? Who would want to help you now?

8. Meanwhile this guy is so rich, he can help himself

9. First, we need stronger punishment

10. What he says is true, but unlike people overseas who are from lower income backgrounds, these people who decide to do drugs in Korea are all from upper income backgrounds and end up getting addicted. This is why we're not reacting the same way

11. Celebrities and chaebols should use their own money for this

12. Wow.. I never imagine I'd see Nam Taehyun at the national assembly...

13. If you jail  drug addicts for 30 years, I'm sure we'll get rid of that problem~

14. I agree with him

15. We should start with stronger punishment
