[theqoo] G-DRAGON "DESTROYING EVIDENCE WITH HAIR REMOVAL? BLATANT DEFAMMATION, WILLING TO GIVE LEG HAIR"

G-Dragon has firmly refuted any suspicions of evidence tampering.

Back on October 25, it was reported that G-Dragon had been booked by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on drug-related charges. Just two days later, G-Dragon personally released a statement through his legal representative to firmly deny the allegations.

On November 6, G-Dragon voluntarily visited the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Narcotics Unit for questioning and provided samples for comprehensive analysis by the National Forensic Service. Following the questioning, he personally addressed the ongoing issue with the media.

However, on November 10, some media outlets reported that G-Dragon had visited the police office with all body hair removed except for his head hair and that the police may suspect him of attempting to tamper with evidence.

Later that day, G-Dragon’s attorney lawyer Kim Soo Hyun issued an official statement to the media, refuting these claims and announcing strict legal actions against the false reports.

The full statement is as follows:

"This is Kwon Ji Yong’s (G-Dragon’s) advisory counsel, lawyer Kim Soo Hyun of K1 Chamber LLP.

Today, there were reports claiming that G-Dragon shaved all of his body hair except his head before the police investigation and that the police have raised suspicions of him attempting to tamper with evidence.

The report about him shaving his entire body is completely untrue. Furthermore, the court has rejected this case due to a lack of evidence, and consequently, no search and seizure warrant related to hair has been issued. Despite these circumstances, Kwon Ji Yong believes that promptly revealing the actual truth can swiftly eliminate suspicions, hence, he voluntarily attended [the police office for questioning] and actively cooperated with the investigation by submitting not only urine and hair but also nails and toenails. Moreover, he had even firmly expressed his willingness to voluntarily provide additional samples, such as leg hair, beyond the head hair samples initially requested by the police.

Despite reports from the police side implying that Kwon Ji Yong shaved his body hair with the intention of tampering with evidence, it’s important to highlight that, in reality, he had maintained hair of sufficient length for verification and willingly submitted hair in the quantity requested by the police. Furthermore, despite his clear statement during voluntary questioning that he had not been dyeing or bleaching his hair, media reports suggested, ‘Depending on the length of the hair, it is possible to confirm one’s use of drugs for up to about a year. However, if, like Kwon Ji Yong, one frequently undergoes coloring or bleaching due to the nature of their profession, the drug components may decrease.’ We want to clearly state that in the past approximately 1 year and 5 months, Kwon Ji Yong has not undergone any coloring or bleaching.

Additionally, Kwon Ji Yong stated during police questioning that he usually shaves his body hair. However, since the investigation was first reported and initiated, he has not shaved at all. Despite clearly expressing no intention of evidence tampering, the police hastily reached conclusions and employed language suggesting that G-Dragon attempted to tamper with evidence to conceal a crime, constituting a serious case of defamation. Despite this [being a case of defamation], inaccurate reports conflicting with the actual facts were released without prior confirmation from Kwon Ji Yong’s side, which we find deeply regrettable.

To conclude, the police’s claim that G-Dragon shaved his entire body to conceal evidence is completely groundless, and as of now, the initial article that first reported this [misinformation] has been corrected.

In the future, we will take strong legal action against such speculative reporting. We request the media to engage in responsible and cautious reporting based on facts to prevent irreparable harm to G-Dragon (Kwon Ji Yong), who is a prominent public figure."

1. This is even worse than Tanjinyo, are we really in 2023?

2. Why are journalists hating on him so much?ㅋㅋㅋ there are so many people hating on him pretending like they don't know anything tooㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

3. I do think that having a lot of fan is really a sign of power. He had previously smoked weed, has been under that Drugstore (T/N: knets gave YG a nickname during their drug scandals. YG = Yak-Guk = drugstore) for years, when people reported him to the police, he didn't have any hair on his legs, so the police has all the rights to be suspicious. I don't think that people are in the position to be criticizing the police. We should just not rashly

4. He left Drugstore and has a record of smoking weed so I'd be suspicious too. And he also said that he was confident and would cooperative so this makes me wonder if he's actually that confident?

5. The previous report saying that he shaved his most of his body was completely evil. I get that "most of his body" doesn't mean "all his body" but journalists are purposely making us suspect him

6. I hope that all the hate commentors on TheQoo get sued

7. The comments on the other post were saying how he always shaved his legs but seems like it's not the case

8. But he gave his hair on his head already, f*ck

9. He's a celebrity so he needs to manage himself and that's why he shaved his leg... but he was charged so he's not gonna shave them now. Anyways, the police never requested for his leg hair in the first place. They are just doing it now

10. I'm just curious, can you perform a drug test on the eyebrows?
