[theqoo] THE 1ST GEN IDOLS' LIVE SINGING SKILLS WERE WAY BETTER THAN I THOUGHT

BABY V.O.X
It's a group of super beautiful women
Everyone has a hand microphone
All members sang live and were stable
Especially Kim E-Z, like she swallowed a CD

Shinhwa
Amazing live while pulling off all the dance moves
Lee Minwoo is the man himself
Shin Hyesung-Kim Dongwan took care of all the high notes and adlibs

FinKL
People said they can't sing and were just pretty
They were always criticized, but
Lee Hyori's voice is beautiful and she was good live
Surprisingly Sung Yuri Lee Jin sang their part confidently
Ok Joohyun too

S.E.S
Eugene and Shoo pulled off their parts and were not only good
They even danced and hit all the harmonyㅋㅋ
There's almost no music behind themㅋㅋ
And there's no need to say anything for Bada...

Sechs Kies
Their live was better than I thought
The choreography is so fast and intense
Rap/song/choreography/choreography, they are not missing a single thing
To be honest, if I was a fan of them back then, I'd for sure be stanning Eun Jiwonㅋㅋ

g.o.d
I purposely looked for this video before their 100th concert(?)ㅋㅋ
I don't need to say much, the members are all so stable.
Kim Taewoo was crazy, but
Son Hoyoung was already showing signs of improvement

H.O.T
They were just like the archaeopteryx of idol groups
All the members were talented
Moon Heejun is a true all-arounder
Kangta was beyond stable, he was solid
Jang Woohyuk, Tony and Lee Jaewon too
They did more than their share of the song
And considering that they wrote and composed the songs themselves,
I can see why they were a team that opened the idol era

original post: here

1. This is real K-popㅋㅋ nowadays, all the music shows are edited so I can't even tell if they are lip syncing or singing live. I hate it.. So that's why there were so many disappointments during the encore stage

2. No but Eun Jiwon was good at rapping but his vocals weren't bad either. Also, every time he was on broadcast, he would change his rap. I found him cool

3. But even back then, I remember idols got hated for being bad singers. People were saying things like "they are honestly not singers"

4. Why are idols so bad at live singing nowadays despite the amount of training they have? K-pop is going higher while idols' skills are going lower. I wonder why. Even considering that their dances are intense, you can barely hear their singing voice and they also sing off-key. The idols also seem to have no confidence in their own singing skills....

5. I was watching Killing Voice and thought that idols skills were so good nowadays but...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

6. Shinhwa's live was outstanding despite dancing around like that. They even did adlibs. They're no joke

7. They have to sing live to improve too but since they don't...

8. I think that SM is the standard

9. No but I don't think that they were that good...

10. It's hilarious how fans are always blaming the equipment and sound system
