[PC stories/KPOP takes] WILL 3RD AND 4TH GEN GROUPS HAVE BETTER CAREERS THAN THEIR 2ND GEN COUNTERPARTS?

I'm a huge newer 4th gen stan but am slowly getting more into older generations of 3rd and 2nd Kpop. But looking at how massive and popular 4th gen groups are nowadays like NewJeans, IVE, Lesserafim, Aespa etc. makes me think what are the older gens are upto and what will the future hold for NewJeans, Ive, LESSERAFIM, Aespa, Itzy etc.

But when I look at the older top groups like SNSD, 2NE1, Sistar, Kara, etc. it seems like outside of some of the SNSD actresses, no one is really doing much?? 2NE1 members like Minzy, CL, Park Bom, or Dara are really making any kind of noise which is crazy when you think about how big they were previously and as a group. Same goes for Sistar. The most noise they made was when Hyolyn went on Queendom 2 but it's not like that's really huge or anything and they had a Sistar19 comeback, but I honestly couldn't tell you what the title song was. Kara is also seen as another legendary group, but even their most popular members like Gyuri "goddess" don't make any noise, and I honestly couldn't tell you where any of their other members are and what they are up to nowadays.

Is there any reason why they completely fell off the earth despite their popular heydays? Even most of their popular members aren't really making any noise individually.

3rd gen seems more "relevant" but I can't tell if it's only because there are still more fans around and they are still recent enough that fans are paying more attention and there's more engagement on social media.

Do you think similar things will happen to 4th gen groups about 5-7 years into the future?
