Former AKB48 member and actress Shimazaki Haruka (30) faced criticism after making comments that seemed to judge the faces of her male fans during a broadcast.
Appearing on the ABEMA show 'Love Hyena 2' aired on the 4th (local time), Shimazaki Haruka recalled her time with AKB48.
During the broadcast, Shimazaki Haruka and Kashiwagi Yuki, who left AKB48 in April, reminisced about 'handshake events'. Handshake events are events where celebrities and fans shake hands, which are not held domestically.
Kashiwagi Yuki said, "Over 500 fans come to the handshake events. (Depending on the fan) I differentiate between informal and formal speech," revealing her know-how in dealing with fans. Shimazaki Haruka, when asked about fans who left a strong impression, replied, "I don't remember any at all," contrasting with Kashiwagi Yuki.
When the host Higashi Bukuro asked, "Do people who look like your type also come to handshake events?" Shimazaki Haruka firmly replied, "No." Shimazaki Haruka added, "There are no good-looking guys among those who like idols," causing a stir in the studio.
