According to a report by SpoTV news on the 2nd, G-Dragon is preparing for a performance at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul in November.
With a capacity of about 16,000 people, Gocheok Dome is one of the few venues in Seoul where large-scale performances can be held due to the remodeling of the Jamsil Main Stadium. Along with the KSPO Dome (formerly the Gymnastics Stadium), it remains one of the limited options for big events in Seoul.
Currently, the Seoul World Cup Stadium, which can accommodate about 60,000 people, is the largest venue used for performances. However, due to issues with the grass, it is difficult to book, so most artists use venues like the KSPO Dome, Gocheok Dome, and the Inspire Arena in Incheon’s Yeongjongdo for their shows.
G-Dragon has chosen Gocheok Dome for his performance due to its capacity for large-scale sets. He has already completed the booking for November and is preparing for a massive concert. However, his agency, Galaxy Corporation, stated, “It is true that he is preparing for a comeback in the second half of the year, but nothing has been confirmed yet,” and was reserved about the details of the performance.
G-Dragon has hinted several times that a solo comeback is imminent. At the '2024 Innovate Korea' talk show held at KAIST in Daejeon in June, he answered “soon” when asked about when the artist Kwon Ji-yong would be seen. In July, he also mentioned his comeback on the tvN variety show ‘Let’s Have a Meal’ by stating, “I think I should focus on my main job.”
Ahead of his comeback, G-Dragon received the trademark rights for ‘G-Dragon’, ‘GD’, and ‘GD’ from his former agency YG Entertainment. It is known that Yang Hyun-suk, the chief producer of YG, generously transferred all these trademarks without any compensation.
