Actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Eom Hong-sik, 37) has been cleared of charges of same-s** SA.
The Seoul Yongsan Police Station made a decision last week not to prosecute in relation to Yoo Ah-in's case, determining that there was insufficient evidence to substantiate the allegations.
Yoo was accused of quasi-r**e on July 15, after the complainant, referred to as A, filed a report the day before, claiming to have been SA by Yoo.
The police summoned Yoo Ah-in on August 28 and investigated the facts surrounding the allegations based on the complainant's statements, witness testimonies, and surrounding CCTV footage.
They also looked into the possibility of drug use, conducting a drug screening test and requesting a thorough analysis from the National Forensic Service. All drug test results returned negative.
Yoo Ah-in's legal representative, lawyer Bang Jeong-hyeon, stated, “I understand that the police made this decision based on the comprehensive evaluation of the complainant's statements, witness testimonies, and surrounding CCTV footage.”
Lawyer Bang added, “As I mentioned before, the allegations are not true," and requested that further speculation regarding the case be refrained from.
Meanwhile, Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 2 million won for habitual drug use in a first-instance trial. He was taken into custody on the 3rd.
