Today (the 15th), YTN's report revealed that the new drama 'I Believe You,' produced by MACE Entertainment, halted filming last June due to investment issues. This comes just three months after the drama began filming in April, following the completion of the pre-production stage.
The drama is a black comedy about the growth of the weak against the strong, with Jaehyun cast as the male lead, marking his debut in acting. Alongside Jaehyun, several actors, including Lee Chae-min, Kim Sun-young, and Park Sung-woong, were also cast.
It has been confirmed that investment issues are holding back the production. The plan was to proceed with filming first and finalize contracts with investors later. However, a company that had promised investment changed its stance, leading to the inability to cover filming costs and forcing the production to stop.
The production company has been working to secure new investors to resume filming, but it has been five months since the halt, and they have yet to finalize a contract with a new investor. The problem is compounded by the inability to pay actor guarantees and staff wages, increasing the likelihood of legal disputes.
A representative from the production company told YTN, 'We are working to resolve the issues through new investors, and we will take full responsibility for paying the outstanding actor guarantees and staff wages,' expressing their commitment to resolving the problems.
