Gu Jun-yeop lost his wife, Barbie Hsu, just before their 3rd wedding anniversary.
On the 3rd, various Taiwanese media outlets reported the news of Barbie Hsu’s death. It was reported that Barbie Hsu, who was traveling in Japan, suddenly passed away due to acute pneumonia caused by the flu.
Barbie Hsu's younger sister, Dee Hsu, who had previously spoken on behalf of Barbie Hsu, officially confirmed her death.
According to Dee Hsu, the family had gone on a trip to Japan during the Lunar New Year holidays, and it was there that Barbie Hsu contracted the flu and passed away due to complications from pneumonia.
In December, Barbie Hsu had expressed her affection by posting a picture of her husband, Gu Jun-yeop, performing on stage on her personal account. Gu Jun-yeop also shared a photo with Barbie Hsu on December 31, sending New Year greetings.
Gu Jun-yeop and Barbie Hsu, who had been lovers in the past, lived their separate lives after their breakup, but on February 8, 2022, they registered their marriage and became a couple. Instead of using couple rings, they gained attention by promising eternal love through finger tattoos.
As of now, Gu Jun-yeop’s side has not yet issued a statement regarding SBarbie Hsu’s death.
