Some viewers have expressed disappointment over Yook Sungjae’s shocking performance on SNL Korea, where he acted out smelling a private part.

In episode 10 of SNL Korea Season 7, which aired on the 7th, Yook Sungjae appeared as the tenth host. He wrapped up the final episode of Season 7.

In the skit, Yook Sungjae played a character called an “Estrogen Man” (E-gen-nam), who gets dumped for that reason by Ji Ye-eun, a “Testosterone Woman” (Teto-nyeo). He then undergoes intense “Testosterone Man” (Teto-nam) training to get revenge after the breakup. His dramatic transformation, complete with a beard and long hair, shedding his idol image, captured viewers’ attention.

Kwon Hyuk-soo appeared as Ji Ye-eun’s new boyfriend, leaving a strong impression with his wild hair and macho persona. At one point, he put his hand down his pants, smelled it, and rolled his eyes back in exaggerated fashion. Yook Sungjae looked visibly shocked by the act. Kwon then said, “This is the smell of a real man,” followed by the line, “You look like a punk who probably doesn’t even have armpit hair,” before walking off with Ji Ye-eun, leaving Yook behind.

Left alone, Yook Sungjae, after some hesitation, mimicked Kwon Hyuk-soo’s behavior, putting his hand down his pants, taking it out, and smelling it. Saddened, he said, “It smells just like baby powder,” then continued acting, crying out, “I want to become a Testosterone Man.”

After the scene aired on Coupang Play, it quickly spread across YouTube and social media. Some netizens reacted with disappointment, saying things like, “What did I just watch?”, “How much did they pay him to do this?”, and “I’ve been a longtime fan of Yook Sungjae, but now I want to stop being one.” Others added, “If my favorite idol had done this, I’d be horrified,” and “Please, I hope my bias never appears on this show,” expressing bitter sentiments.
