The unmarried rate for people in their 30s, the age group with the highest marriage and birth rates, was 51.3%. By region, Seoul had the highest at 62.8%, while Sejong had the lowest at 34.4%."

"According to the Population and Housing Census by Statistics Korea, Seoul has the highest unmarried rate in the country at 63%.

Last year, 51.3% of men and women in their 30s nationwide had never been married, meaning more than half remained single.

With the rise of non-marriage values, marriage has steadily declined since the 2000s, and now 1 in 2 people in their 30s—the main age group for marriage and childbirth, are unmarried.

In Seoul, the unmarried rate among people in their 30s was 62.8%, the highest in the nation."
