I just mean the content and music that was put out. And I know a lot of people got sick of the retro era that was going on but I absolutely adored it, especially So Bad by STAYC.
Groups were really releasing hit after hit 2020-2021—Not Shy-ITZY, Given-Taken-ENHYPEN, Alcohol-Free-TWICE, Cry for Me-TWICE, The Feels-TWICE, Boca-DREAMCATCHER, Odd Eye-DREAMCATCHER, Thanxx-ATEEZ, 0x1=Lovesong-TXT, All Red Velvet releases, Bicycle-CHUNGHA, MMMH-KAI, HWAA-GIDLE, MAGO-GFRIEND, Hello Future-NCT DREAM, After School-WEEEKLY, pporappippam-SUNMI, Tail-SUNMI, Unnatural-WJSN, etc. and it was fun interacting in fandom spaces because so many new people were getting into K-POP and I liked introducing new groups and songs to people.
Like that was one of my top three favorite times to be into K-POP (it’s up there with 2015-2016 and 2018 K-POP). Omg and award show season was actually so fun too because we actually saw groups interacting, I still remember those tiktoks AESPA did with NCT or when Solar from MAMAMOO almost went into BTS’ van and I forget who it was but those two groups that went to McDonalds together.
Like, I wouldn’t mind the artist viewing section at award shows if it actually looked like the artists were having fun but let’s be fr—having to sit there and be aware of your every move so that you’re not accused of having an attitude or being boy/girl crazy must be tiring af. Not to mention, it actually seemed like artists preferred waiting in their vans over them just sitting there waiting for their turn to perform—but maybe I’m delusional because if I remember correctly the hosts (?) were given actual rooms to wait in over the artists.
Also the sets used during award shows were soooo pretty (TWICE’s MAMA stage comes to mind). Sorry for any awkward sentences, I’m forgetting my English.
