According to Sports Kyunghyang’s coverage on the 29th, Han Sohee will appear in the Netflix series Solo Leveling, starring Byun Wooseok in the lead role.
Solo Leveling is based on the webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of Sung Jin-woo, known as the weakest “E-rank hunter,” who protects the real world from monsters beyond the gates. After facing a life-or-death crisis, he awakens and levels up to become the strongest hunter destined to save the world.
The drama adaptation was announced in January, with Byun Wooseok, who rose to stardom through tvN’s Lovely Runner, confirmed early on to play the lead role of Sung Jinwoo. Casting for other characters is still underway.
Amid this, anticipation is building with the addition of Han Sohee as a co-lead. Han, known for her skilled action performances in Netflix series like My Name and Gyeongseong Creature, is expected to take on the role of Cha Haein, Korea’s only S-rank hunter and a fan-favorite character from the original webtoon.
With the webtoon amassing 14.3 billion cumulative views worldwide, the live-action adaptation has drawn significant attention. Directors Lee Haejun and Kim Byungseo, who previously collaborated on the film Ashfall, are set to lead the project. Production is being handled by Kakao Entertainment and Sanai Pictures.
With the casting of popular stars Byun Wooseok and Han Sohee, both beloved across various genres, all eyes are on the upcoming release.
