Tablo filed a lawsuit against "Whatbecomes," the origin of the allegations of his academic forgery, once before the "Tajinyo" controversy grew larger.

Since "Whatbecomes" was a US citizen, the case was suspended due to inability to prosecute.

At the time, the prosecution treated the case as a serious matter, taking over the investigation instead of the police.
(This kind of handling is usually reserved for major scandals like the Choi Soon-sil Gate.)

Unusually, even then-President Lee Myung-bak expressed sympathy for Tablo and instructed that the investigation be conducted properly.

These malicious commenters grew their influence through an internet cafe called Tajinyo, extending their influence offline.

In the process, Tablo's older brother, Lee Seon-min, who also graduated from a prestigious university and was an English instructor at EBS, ended up leaving EBS.

At that time, Tajinyo poured a flood of phone calls and malicious comments on the broadcasting station, and Lee Seon-min was unable to work as a private academy instructor, so he is said to be currently self-employed.

Tablo's parents also suffered tremendous damage.
His mother was forced to close her salon after a string of haras**ng men visited her, verbally ab**ing her, and hurled insults at her over the phone.

The biggest victim was Tablo's father, Lee Kwang-bu.

Tablo's father, who cherished his youngest son, suffered a relapse of his previously cured liver cancer due to the stress of the Tajinyo scandal.

His father, Lee Kwang-bu, graduated from Seoul National University, and Tajinyo also raised suspicions even about this.

Seoul National University strongly and publicly asserted that Lee Kwang-bu was indeed a Seoul National University graduate, and alumni echoed this assertion.

However, Tajinyo began attacking even Lee Kwang-bu's alumni.

After telling Tablo that he wished he had sung brighter songs and promising to video call him tomorrow, Lee Kwang-bu passed away.

The court also ruled that Tajinyo had played a role in Lee Kwang-bu's death.

And then Tajinyo attacked Seoul National University for posting Lee Gwang-bu’s obituary, insisting until the end that the real Lee Gwang-bu was still alive and had gone abroad

A happy family was left to suffer at the hands of malicious commenters.

His wife, Kang Hye-jung, who had only recently gotten married, also began to struggle financially.

Due to Tajinyo, Tablo had no income for about three years and fell into the belief that everyone hated and would attack him, making it impossible for him to work.

Kang Hye-jung, for the sake of her family, began accepting even small roles and would always buy a gift for her husband Tablo whenever she earned money.

It may have been a difficult decision for Kang Hye-jung, who had once been a leading actress.

The same went for his fellow group members as well.

The members also had no choice but to wait for Tablo.
Although they wanted to do something for him, it was a situation where they couldn’t step in carelessly, and Tukutz reportedly felt very frustrated.

And finally, Tajinyo was brought to justice

1. The ringleader, Whatbecomes, changed his story and disappeared.

He is hiding in the US, has not received any punishment, and is still active online as a malicious commenter.

2. Nine members of Tajinyo were sentenced through appeals and received the following punishments:

- After appeal sentencing: 10 months in prison, suspended for 2 years – 1 person
- Appeal dismissed: 8 months in prison, suspended for 2 years – 4 people
- Appeal dismissed: 10 months in prison, suspended for 2 years – 2 people
- Appeal dismissed: 10 months in prison (actual jail time) – 2 people

+) The sentences were reduced because Tablo showed leniency.

But even then, they appealed, claiming the sentences were too harsh.

The reason the Tajinyo members suspected Tablo was incredibly simple.
You can easily understand by watching interviews with Tablo’s Stanford classmates.

"I often say, "That's just not logic." But then I think it's common sense to apply my own sense of logic to others, and that's just their logic."

The reason Tajinyo treated Tablo this way boils down to just one thing:
Because it didn’t make “logical sense” to them.
They couldn’t understand how, logically, a top student from an elite university would do hip-hop.
That’s it. There’s no other real reason.

Some members of Tajinyo are still active.
Because the ringleader, Whatbecomes, is still active too.

The song “Pieces of You,” written by Tablo for his father:

"Even your tired face,
Even your shrinking figure as you walk away,
Your eyes, your hands
I want to forever hold your hand, looking into your eyes.
I already wish I could turn back time.
Dad, I love you."

After this incident, Tablo abandoned his religion, going from a Christian to an atheist.

Lyrics from "Here Come the Regrets" (2012):

"God, I know You're up there.
But I needed You down here."

original post: here

1. I've been a long-time fan, but it's so sad and painful that I can't do anything but just watching on the sidelines... I'm just so, so grateful that you've survived so well until now

2. I was in middle school when all that happened, and even back then I used to think that those Tajinyo people were mentally ill;;; Tablo is so pitiful ㅜㅜ

3. I just wasn't interested in him so I didn't know it was that big of a deal, but I remember someone I knew who really believed that. Their reason is that "He's such a b*tch for pretending to be smart." I really can't stand people who feel inferior to others and explode with their inferiority complex. I learned his father's cancer has relapsed... Someone in our family has breast cancer surgery and is recovering, so it breaks my heart... This is the first time I heard about his father...

4. It's my first time hearing about his father's passing ㅜㅡㅜ

5. Wow it pisses me off that we still can't find the ringleader

6. Do you really think that Tajinyo only focuses on hating through Tajinyo?

7. This breaks my heart ã… ã… ã…  I hope that he'll be in peace and happy in the future

8. I know that Tajinyo still exists and those kids who torment celebrities like Tajinyo. I need all of them to pay for their crimes seriously

9. How can you be this insane?

10. Thank you for staying alive
