[theqoo] THE MBC NEW DRAMA 'TO THE MOON' THAT IS RECEIVING BAD REACTIONS OVERSEAS FROM THE TRAILER RIGHT NOW

People are talking about how this is 2025 and that it's so wrong...

"If it's 2025 and we still can't distinguish between cultural differences and have to rely on stereotypes, then I think it's time to leave the media/entertainment industry and do something else."

"MBC is doing this cheap Aladdin cosplay like it's some kind of carnival trash.
It's completely absurd and blatantly rac**t clown behavior.
They get all upset when someone mistakes them for Chinese or Japanese, yet they show zero regard for other people's cultures, just stomping all over them with dumb stereotypes"

"Mixing two cultures, turning them into stereotypes, and mocking them is disrespectful and absurdly rac**t"

original post: here

1. Aside from the rac**m talk, this is just a mess....

2. The broadcasting people need to start adjusting to the new generation. Do they not understand how buzz and user satisfaction works? ㅋㅋ

3. That's embarrassing

4. The worst part is that they tried to mix two cultures together

5. D*mn... I can understand how this fits Koreans' taste, but the generations have changed so much already..ㅋㅋㅋ..

6. The generations have changed..

7. No but what generation's vibe is this..;;;

8. Do they think that if they keep pushing content like that that people will stop having an opinion?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

9. Me too, I just saw this on Twitter and was wondering if international viewers would be okay with this

10. It's like they tried to mix in India, Egypt with all Arabic countries together. Imagine another country mixing China, Korea and Japan. We would send them so much hate... Imagine someone wearing a Hanbok with a Chinese backdrop..
