[instiz] ALLDAY PROJECT'S WOOCHAN, "I'M NOT LIKE THAT" COMMENT CONTROVERSY... INTERNATIONAL FANS POINT FINGERS "HATEFUL"

Woochan, a member of the co-ed group ALLDAY PROJECT, is facing criticism from international fans due to a remark he made during a live broadcast.

On August 30th, Woochan hosted a live stream on the group’s dedicated fan communication platform. During the broadcast, a fan left a comment saying, “Hyung, let’s date,” to which Woochan responded, “You’re calling me 'hyung' and trying to date me? I’m not like that. No way.”

This moment was later shared on social media, sparking controversy. In particular, international fans argued that Woochan's response was ho****bic or bi***bic, saying it condemned the other person’s sexual orientation.

Some international fans compared his reaction to how other K-pop idols have handled similar situations, saying, “This isn’t about national culture, it’s about individual attitude,” and expressed disappointment.

On the other hand, reactions among domestic fans have been more varied. Some netizens commented, “People are nitpicking over nothing,” and “That kind of reaction is actually more like forcing a certain view,” claiming that the international backlash is excessive.

However, some voices have also acknowledged the issue, saying, “As a K-pop artist, he should have been more considerate of international fans,” “His response was somewhat disappointing,” and “It’s something he should’ve been more mindful about.”

1. Seriously why aren't international fans just leaving K-pop? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. I-roaches pulled an I-roach ㅋㅋㅋ If he says he's not like that, then he's simply not like that

3. But why would you ask a question like that to a hetero? Why isn't that considered rude too? Why do they only want others to only respect you?

4. I'm only saying this because I’m worried people will start making strange excuses again, but this really is something worth talking about. People keep asking, “What’s wrong with saying he’s straight?” but the issue is how it was said. If he had just said something like, “I don’t date guys,” or “I’ve never thought about that,” then it would’ve been understandable. But saying, “You’re calling me ‘hyung’ and trying to date me? What are you doing?” that’s directed at the other person. Do you really not see the difference? If he had just said, “I’m not like that. No way,” without the part before, no one would’ve had a problem with it.

5. Honestly, I understand why it could be controversial, but I can't agree with how I-roaches are blowing this out of proportions ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I-roaches are so tiring to deal with

6. ..? He didn't even say anything hateful though..? Why is it controversial? Are people saying that he should say "I'm not gay"??

7. He's still a rookie so he couldn't answer with a lot of tact, but I-roaches are too numerous now so he should be careful

8. Huh? No but he didn't even say "No but I only love women~" he simply said "You're a man, how can I date you" he was just being clear?

9. Seriously hilarious. Why don't they find it rude to ask something like that to a hetero?

10. If he's gonna react like that, why even react to the comment? I don't get it
