According to the music industry on the 12th, WM Entertainment’s parent company, RBW, dismissed CEO Lee Won-min in early August. + More context

Since founding WM Entertainment in 2008, CEO Lee Won-min had led the company's growth for many years. Most notably, he played a major role in establishing WM Entertainment’s status as a mid-sized agency by launching successful idol groups such as B1A4, Oh My Girl, and ONF. However, his sudden dismissal reportedly caused significant unrest within the company, with several key executives also leaving in succession.

Although WM Entertainment continued to operate as an independent label even after being acquired by RBW in April 2021, tensions are said to have arisen recently between RBW and Lee over the launch of a new rookie group amid an overall downturn in the entertainment industry. Industry insiders believe RBW has stepped in to directly overhaul management under the pretext of improving performance and restructuring.

Following Lee’s dismissal, RBW co-CEO Kim Jin-woo has taken over as his successor. WM Entertainment is now reportedly undergoing a restructuring centered around leadership aligned with RBW’s direction.
