SM's legal representative stated, "As CBX continues to deny the validity of not only the exclusive contract but also the agreement based on it, the company believes that it is no longer possible for them to continue activities together as members of EXO."

"According to the judgment, the non-indictment decisions, and the notices of non-prosecution obtained by The Law Times, the relevant authorities commonly concluded that “there is no evidence to recognize any illegality or fraudulent intent in SM Entertainment’s actions.” The consistent interpretation was that Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin’s claims lacked concrete evidence.

A legal representative for SM stated, “Since Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin continue to deny not only the validity of their exclusive contracts but also the effectiveness of the related agreements based on them, the company believes it is no longer possible to continue EXO’s activities together.”"

Now these 3 are officially out of EXO

So EXO has shrank from an OT8 to an OT5 group...

+ The EXO members changes through history 

1. In 2012, EXO debuted as OT12

Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O, Tao, Kai Sehun

2. In 2014, Kris withdrew and Luhan left soon after. They became OT10

3. In 2015, Tao left, they became OT9

4. In 2017, Lay started promoting his solo activities in China and halted all activities with EXO. After 2022, he withdrew. They became OT8

5. In 2025, Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin filed a lawsuit against SM and withdrew. They became OT5

6. So right now, the remaining members are Suho, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai and Sehun. They were OT5 until Lay rejoined the group after withdrawing making them OT6

So between 2012 ~ present, they started as OT12 and will become OT6 in 2026.

2. Hing, I'm not even a fan but this is such a shame

3. It's kinda random, but I just realized it's been 14 years since EXO debuted. Time flies

4. I remember what Moon Hee-jun said before... He was talking about how since the group is doing so well, you'd start believing that you can do well as a solo too, but the reality is that what you love was being part of the group. Even though they have the same voice and they're the same people, I wonder if it's a good thing that they're throwing away their agency and EXO as a group...

8. I don't know much about it, but isn't SM known for not paying that well? I've seen their sunbae singers change contracts and talk about how much better they were paid now. Maybe they heard others leaving companies and talking about how much they were paid so they think they deserve more? I'm another group's fan so I don't know about this stuff, but every time I heard about them in the news, I was just thinking about how much they crossed the line with their lawsuit... So this is the outcome of it
