Like the title says: When it comes to dating scandals, everyone involved is an a**hole. I'm talking about the companies and culture that makes it taboo for idols to openly date to begin with while also simultaneously encouraging unhealthy paraosocialism and all that entails. I'm also talking about the male idols themselves who, despite being veterans in the industry and rich beyond belief at this point in their career, continue to engage and fuel said parasocial relationships with their fans while partaking in public lovestagrams and hints with their girlfriends, all the while being too cowardly to openly admit to their relationships as fans catch on, their girlfriends crash out publicly & get harassed online. Not to mention being attracted to fame and attention-hungry women in the first place who intentionally antagonize their fans and hint at their relationship every other day. Make it make sense. Either openly date or be completely PRIVATE about it, none of this in-between nonsense. I'm also talking about the girlfriends themselves, for reasons stated above. And finally the fans: the fans in denial about their baby-oppa/dongsaeng being a growna** adult who dates, the fans who relentlessly harass these women, and the fans who overcompensate and are performative with their support while failing to see the nuance of the situation, which is that idols should date freely but the way they're going about it is weird af.
All-in-all, dear idols, in a world of Jimins, Taemins and Chens, be a Dawn, Changmin or a Taeyang.
