[PC stories/KPOP takes] WOULDN'T THE RISE OF WESTERN GROUPS BASED ON KPOP HINDER THE GLOBAL SUCCESS OF ACTUAL KPOP GROUPS?

The biggest kpop companies like SM, HYBE and JYP all have debuted western groups based on the kpop system and probably have more future plans for that, everyone wants that US relevance so it seems like they have been trying to get closer by debuting groups with western people and diversity, thinking they might have more chances of hitting very big with that. Remember when Bang Sihyuk said that kpop is on decline globally and therefore he suggests removing the "K" in "KPOP" or else the industry's growth will be limited? He then also said "We need to expand our target to people from various countries and then introduce K-pop through artists other than Korean or asian origins". I know that everyone already agreed on that being a dumb take but i have been thinking about it again and wow it's really stupid.

Westerners are very racist and xenophobic people who tend to think asians all look the same and when kpop first got attention globally, the complex and super synchronized choreography was the thing that westerners found the most unique and impressive in kpop groups, but now if global groups with western members and diversity also have amazing, complex and super synchronized choreography then what else is full-asian groups' main unique charm going to be? Back to Bang Sihyuk's quote; does he really think western groups based on kpop will be the solution for kpop's decline? lol. It's going to be way more difficult for full-asian kpop groups to get attention in the west, especially after we already had BTS and BLACKPINK. Starting from Katseye, the new big impressive thing is going to be western groups based on the kpop system. There are still asian representations in some of those global groups but the South Korea representation, from where everything started, will start to be very limited. Other companies might as well follow the trend
