[theqoo] 17 Y'O KIM SAERON WHO RECEIVED A TEXT "I WANT TO HUG YOU WHILE FALLING ASLEEP"... COULDN'T BE KIM SOOHYUN, WHY?

June 25, 2016.

"Give me a kiss later," "Is this not allowed too?"

These are text messages that the late actress Kim Saeron received from an anonymous man during her lifetime. The bereaved family claimed that Kim Saeron began a romantic relationship with Kim Soohyun in 2015, when she was in her third year of middle school, and that these messages were sent by Kim Soohyun. However, this is likely not true.

Attorney Bu Ji-seok, the legal representative of the bereaved family, and Kim Se-ui, head of YouTube channel GaroSero Institute, held a press conference on March 27 at the Space Share Gangnam Center in Seocho-dong, Seoul. There, they revealed the contents of text messages exchanged between the late actress and an unnamed man.

According to them, on June 22, 2016, when Kim Saeron suddenly canceled a scheduled meeting early in the morning due to a change in plans, the man replied, "You're tired, so I’ll come to where you are."

On June 24, the man was again waiting for Kim Saeron. He texted, "What time will you be done?" and "I’ll try to stay awake as long as possible until you're finished. Who cares about being tired? I'm waiting to talk to you." On June 28, he also sent affectionate messages like, "Give me a kiss later. Is that forbidden too?" and "When can I fall asleep holding you? I think I’d sleep really well then."

Attorney Bu and Kim Se-ui strongly asserted that this man was Kim Soohyun. Bu stated, "If this wasn’t a romantic relationship, then what kind of relationship was it where someone asks to sleep together? At the time, Kim Saeron was 17 years old." Kim Se-ui added, "We redacted personal information from the original KakaoTalk messages and restructured them accordingly. Let me be clear, we did not fabricate or manipulate the content."

"Give me a kiss," to 17-year-old Kim Saeron… It couldn't have been Kim Soohyun

However, there is a strong possibility that the man was not Kim Soohyun but someone else entirely.

According to a June 2016 schedule obtained by Money Today, Kim Soohyun was extremely busy that month with the final stages of filming the movie "Real."

He had filming scheduled on 18 days of the month (June 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 28, 29, and 30), including the exact days (22nd, 25th, 26th) when the text messages were exchanged with the anonymous man.

Filming took place at a set in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, starting at 8AM and ending as late as 10PM. Kim Soohyun, who appeared in nearly every scene, would arrive early in the morning and only leave after shooting wrapped.

The commute from Kim Soohyun’s residence in Seongsu-dong, Seoul to the Yeongjongdo set takes about 2 hours by car during weekday mornings. To be on set by 8AM, he would have to leave home by 6AM, returning around midnight. Given this hectic schedule, it is seen as highly implausible that he could have scheduled romantic meet-ups with Kim Saeron during this time.

Kim Soohyun's side: "The bereaved family fabricated the sender of the 2016 KakaoTalk messages"

The "Real" daily shooting plan dated June 25, 2016, confirms that the document was first created on June 24, 2016.

A source stated, "Kim Soohyun was insanely busy filming at the time. He’d get soaked filming action scenes, come home and immediately sleep, and then wake up at dawn to return to set."
They emphasized, "There’s no way he had time to wait around for someone like the messages suggest."

Attorney Ko Sang-rok, legal representative for Kim Soohyun, said, "There’s nothing in the released conversations that identifies the man as Kim Soohyun. Strangely, the messages never mention what the man did or planned to do, indicating a deliberate omission of schedule-related details by GaroSero Institute and Attorney Bu."

Attorney Ko added, "The bereaved family knows who the real sender of the 2016 KakaoTalk messages is. The previous legal team even requested a police seizure search to investigate the matter."

He further argued, "Rather than just accepting the materials released by GaroSero, authorities should obtain all data shared among GaroSero, the bereaved family, and Attorney Bu in their group chats, as well as all cloud and phone data accessed by the family. This would prove they knew Kim Soohyun was not the sender of those 2016 messages, and that their public claims were false."

Previously, suspicions of message forgery also arose over text messages from 2018 that were released by the bereaved family. They claimed Kim Soohyun texted on April 2, 2018, saying: "We planned to meet Thursday (the 5th)," "I want to see you now," "I'll be done around 9 p.m. after hospital, dinner, and a workout."
However, records showed that Kim Soohyun was undergoing military training at the time. A journal obtained by Money Today confirmed that he was in field training from April 2–5.

Money Today attempted to reach GaroSero Institute's Kim Se-ui multiple times for comment, but received no response.
