[theqoo] [EXCLUSIVE] 'THE SHOW', TO COME TO AN END AFTER 14 YEARS... FINAL EPISODE ON 11/11

According to an exclusive report by Star News on October 24, SBS funE’s long-running music program ‘The Show’ will come to an end after its final broadcast on November 11.

Airing every Tuesday on SBS funE, ‘The Show’ first premiered in April 2011 and has since become one of the staple weekly music programs for K-pop fans worldwide. Over the years, more than 40 K-pop artists have taken on the role of MC, contributing to the program’s unique and diverse charm.

Typically, Korean music programs wrap up their broadcasts toward the end of the year due to various festivals, events, and award ceremonies, only to resume in the first half of the following year. However, this time is different as ‘The Show’ will be ending permanently, with no plans for a reboot or continuation.

With only three episodes remaining before its conclusion, viewers are curious to see how ‘The Show’ will mark the end of its 14-year journey and deliver a memorable finale to its loyal fans.

1. I used to fangirl on mid-size companies' idols 10 years ago and they couldn't go on shows like Music Core, Music Bank or Inkigayo... I remember The Show was the only stage where they could stand on so I was watching it every day...

2. This was the only light for idols who couldn't appear on public TV... what a shame

3. I thought that music shows got a lot of money but seems like they didn't have enough..

4. Only Show Champion is left for idols of smaller companiesã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

5. Ah, this show was so fun for fans of small companies idolsã… ã… ã… ã… ã…  what a shameã… ã… ã… ã…

6. There's no more stage to stand on for smaller companies idols nowã… ã… ã…

7. ã… ã…  It seems like the platform shape is slowly changing... what a shame

8. Hul noã… ã… ã… ã…  My bias was runner up for #1 on The Show...

9. Smaller companies idols were at least able to appear there but they can't anymore

10. I feel like there's slowly no more place for smaller companies idols to appear anywhere. Big companies are eating everything up
