[theqoo] 'KDH' EJAE "WAS A TRAINEE IN SM FOR 12 YEARS... I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN MYSELF" TEARS

EJAE trained as a trainee at SM Entertainment for 12 years alongside Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, and f(x). Having started her trainee life at age 11, EJAE shared, “I really worked hard,” recalling that Girls' Generation's Yuri once told her, “You're really going to make it, you work so hard, you'll definitely succeed.”

However, AJAE ultimately failed to debut. She explained, “I didn't fit with SM's vibe. The trend back then was for a clean-sounding voice. I tried to change my voice to be cleaner, but I wasn't that good at singing back then. I was too old. I understand. I missed my chance (to debut).”

After terminating her contract, EJAE left SM in tears, confessing, “I was deeply disappointed in myself.” She admitted the situation of working hard yet failing to debut caused her great pain. Furthermore, EJAE drew attention by shedding tears, expressing that she felt even more sorry for the ‘young EJAE’ who had poured so much time and effort into becoming a singer.

1. Wow, if she was a trainee for 12 years then.... they should've told her earlier that she wouldn't make it due to her age. She suffered

2. That's why she had no confidence in her own voiceㅜㅠ I like EJAE's voice so much. I hope she releases a lot of songs..

3. Wow, being a trainee for 12 years is such a long time

4. I do feel like he has the total opposite style to SM's voice.. Still, I think that they took her because she had talent. But the way they treated her was too much

5. But SM doesn't care that much about age though

6. What's important is that those 12 years weren't in vain

7. Still, she finally saw the light through her talents

8. Even JYP just cuts you off because of your age. But it was actually better for her to just come out

9. You can tell that she's not SM-styleㅠ But they should've let her go earlier

10. 12 years is so damn longㅠㅠ It's a relief that she's shining bright right now
