The perpetrator used a ladder he had prepared in advance to climb up to Nana’s apartment balcony around 6 AM on November 15 and entered through an unlocked door.
Inside the home, he encountered Nana’s mother and as***lted her by threatening her with a weapon and choking her.
Inside the home, he encountered Nana’s mother and as***lted her by threatening her with a weapon and choking her.
Nana, who was asleep, heard the screams and came out to find a small-built man in his 20s choking her mother.
After a struggle with the intruder, Nana and her mother managed to overpower him by grabbing both of his arms. However, during the struggle the perpetrator was injured on his jaw area, and he then filed an as***lt charge against Nana and her mother.
The police determined that the situation fell under Article 21(1) of the Criminal Act, legitimate self-defense, so they did not book them.
Then the perpetrator claimed that during the arrest the police failed to properly read him his rights and filed for a review of the legality of his detention, which fortunately the court rejected.
He is now claiming that he entered the house without knowing it was Nana’s, had no prior acquaintance with them, and committed the crime simply because he was short on money.
