Former Teen Top member Bang Min-soo (stage name Cap) will serve as chair of the preparatory committee for the idol union.
His agency, Modenberry Korea, stated on the 7th, “Bang Min-soo is currently serving as chair of the ‘Idol Labor Union Preparatory Committee,’ which is preparing to launch within the year.”
The preparatory committee for the idol union is an organization aimed at protecting the rights and interests of public cultural artists, including idols. It submitted its establishment application to the Seongnam Regional Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor last September.
Currently, over ten idols have expressed their intention to join the union, with singer Ailee confirmed as a publicly announced participant. Additionally, Seo Min-sun, a research fellow at the Democratic Party of Korea's Youth Policy Research Institute, is responsible for the overall preparation and external promotion regarding the union's establishment.
The preparatory committee emphasized that standard manuals must be established and made mandatory, covering: △the appropriateness of agency responses when celebrities suffer malicious comments, including legal action, deletion requests, and support for filing complaints; △the operation of mental health management manuals; and △notifying guardians, linking to medical care, and managing counseling records when warning signs appear.
Meanwhile, Bang Min-soo debuted in 2010 with Teen Top and actively promoted numerous hit songs. After leaving the group, he signed an exclusive contract with Modenberry Korea in 2025 and continues to pursue diverse activities.
