IVE's Ahn Yujin has kept her MC position for the 'Music Festival' for four consecutive years, while DAY6's Young K and NCT DREAM's Jaemin have joined as new hosts.
On the 17th, OSEN reported that IVE's Ahn Yujin, DAY6's Young K and NCT DREAM's Jaemin were chosen as MCs for the 2025 SBS Music Festival with Bithumb (hereafter "2025 SBS Music Festival").
IVE's Ahn Yujin has been carrying out MC duties for the Music Festival since 2022 through this past summer alongside NCT's Doyoung and TOMORROW X TOGETHER's Yeonjun. With her selection once again this year as MC, she will lead the Music Festival for the fourth consecutive year.
With this, Ahn Yujin set a new record as an MC chosen for SBS Music Festival six times in a row. Having firmly established herself as the face of the Music Festival, she is expected to serve as the central figure of the 2025 SBS Music Festival with a more relaxed and polished hosting style.
However, NCT's Doyoung is scheduled to enter military service on Dec. 8, just before the Music Festival. As a result, an MC replacement became unavoidable, and much attention focused on who would fill that vacancy.
In this context, DAY6's Young K and NCT DREAM's Jaemin were selected as new Music Festival MCs to replace NCT's Doyoung and TOMORROW X TOGETHER's Yeonjun. Young K has demonstrated steady hosting skills as a DJ on MBC Radio's Idol Radio season 1 and KBS Cool FM's DAY6's Kiss the Radio, so together with four-year veteran Ahn Yujin, they are expected to continue a calm and deep hosting style.
In particular, Jaemin will be attempting his first-ever MC role through this Music Festival. With his bright energy and lively presence, he is expected to show a new side of himself as a host that he has not displayed before.
Attention is also focused on the fresh three-MC chemistry that Ahn Yujin will show with Young K and Jaemin. Regarding this, MBC said, "The three people, whose musical sensibility, variety skills and youthful energy harmonize, will complete the Music Festival's characteristic young and trendy mood and will be responsible for the spectacular finale of K-pop in 2025," the broadcaster said.
Meanwhile, the 2025 SBS Music Festival, themed "Golden Loop," listed Stray Kids, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, BOYNEXTDOOR, ZEROBASEONE, RIIZE, NCT WISH, BABYMONSTER, ALLDAY PROJECT followed by the second lineup including NCT DREAM, THE BOYZ, ATEEZ, ITZY, TREASURE, NMIXX, &TEAM, TWS, ILLIT, Hearts2Hearts, KiiiKiii and CORTIS among the first lineup.
