As all members of the girl group NewJeans (Minji, Danielle, Hanni, Haerin, Hyein) have expressed their intention to return to their original agency ADOR amid an ongoing exclusive-contract dispute, it has been confirmed that the member who did not attend the earlier meeting with the agency’s CEO was Hanni.

According to Star News reporting on the 17th, Hanni was abroad and therefore did not attend the meeting held on the 11th between ADOR CEO Lee Do-kyung, the NewJeans members, and their guardians. The meeting, which was reportedly held to discuss prerequisites and conditions for the members' return to the agency, took place without Hanni, who conveyed that she would be unable to attend due to being overseas.

Because of this, the agency has determined that the member referred to as being “in Antarctica”, a phrase that became a topic of conversation when three members announced their intention to return, was Hanni. The agency plans to proceed with an individual meeting with her as soon as she returns to Korea.

Previously, on the 12th, the agency announced through an official statement that Haerin and Hyein had expressed their desire to return, just one day after their meeting with CEO Lee Do-kyung. The agency said, “Haerin and Hyein have expressed their intention to continue their activities with ADOR. After careful deliberation with their families and extensive discussion with ADOR, the two members decided to respect the court’s ruling and comply with the exclusive contract.”

Not long after, Minji, Hanni, and Danielle also expressed their intention to return. Through their legal representatives at the law firm Hanil, the three stated, “After careful discussion, we have decided to return to ADOR. One member is currently in Antarctica, so communication was delayed. As ADOR has not yet responded, we had no choice but to issue our position separately.”

However, this announcement was made independently before consultations with ADOR had concluded. In response, ADOR stated that they are “in the process of confirming the authenticity” and are “coordinating individual meeting schedules.”
