[theqoo] FROM THE 4TH GEN 'JANG-KA-SUL-YU' → THE 5TH GEN 'I-BANG-WON' AND 'YI-JI-AN' APPEAR

Following the 4th generation visual lineup often summed up as “Jang–Ka–Sul–Yu” (Jang Wonyoung, Karina, Sullyoon, Yuna), a new wave of “visual queen” candidates is emerging among 5th generation girl groups, exciting K-pop fans.

The members gaining attention first are the so-called “I-Bang-Won” trio: Ian of Hearts2Hearts, Bang Jimin of IZNA, and Wonhee of ILLIT. The three appeared together on tvN’s Amazing Saturday, now considered an essential course for rising idols, proving their current popularity. Immediately after the broadcast, viewers reacted explosively to the visual chemistry among the three.

Ian of Hearts2Hearts captivated viewers with her lively, “born-to-be idol” energy and striking features. Bang Jimin of IZNA exuded a chic charm with her signature “cat-like” elegance. Challenging the dominance of “I-Bang-Won” is another 5th-generation visual trio: the “Yi-Ji-An” lineup. Consisting of Yihyun from Baby DONT Cry, Jiwoo from Hearts2Hearts, and Anna from MEOVV, the “Yi-Ji-An” trio has built strong individual fandoms thanks to their distinct personalities and charms.

Yihyun of Baby DONT Cry, the youngest of the “Lee-Ji-An” trio by debut date, wins fans over with her universally appealing “classic idol” visuals. Viewers still remember the adorable appearance she showed at age 12 on SBS’s Fantastic Duo, and many say she has grown beautifully at 19, “a textbook example of a glow-up.” She recently served as a special MC on SBS’s Inkigayo, showcasing her potential as an all-rounder.

Hearts2Hearts' Jiwoo successfully differentiated herself from other idols who favored long hair by adopting short hair as her trademark. The neat and sophisticated image of short hair perfectly complemented Jiwoo's distinct features, forming a powerful "visual duo" alongside fellow Hearts2Hearts member Ian.



MEOVV’s Anna is often cited as the “representative visual” of her group, even among a lineup full of standout members. Fans praise not only her stage performances in songs like “HANDS UP” and “BURNING UP” but also the elegant, sophisticated aura she radiates through every camera angle at events.

With the distinct colors of “I-Bang-Won” and “Y-Ji-An,” all eyes inside and outside the music industry are on who will ultimately claim the crown of the fifth-generation visual queen, following in the footsteps of the fourth generation.
