Fans of K-pop groups LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT have expressed strong opposition to NewJeans’ return, staging truck protests in Seoul amid ongoing debates over the group’s activities.
On November 20, fans gathered in front of HYBE’s headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, displaying trucks with messages calling for protection of their favorite groups and action against online harassment.
One truck read, “We cannot remain silent against organized malicious comments,” while also referencing “HYBE and Belift Lab, restore justice for ILLIT.” Another message urged, “Face the harm and act to protect mental and physical health.”
LE SSERAFIM fans also voiced their concerns, criticizing Source Music for allegedly failing to address workplace harassment, and asking whether the agency could truly protect the group, despite their dedicated work.

Source Music also warned of legal action, citing a surge in malicious posts targeting LE SSERAFIM.
LE SSERAFIM fans also voiced their concerns, criticizing Source Music for allegedly failing to address workplace harassment, and asking whether the agency could truly protect the group, despite their dedicated work.
The protests included signs questioning, “Depressed just by being near HYBE?” and emphasizing the emotional toll, stating, “The real agony is felt by LE SSERAFIM and FEARNOT.”
Fans explicitly rejected forced apologies or reconciliation, declaring, “We will not share any authority with groups maliciously targeting LE SSERAFIM.” The ongoing negotiations between HYBE, ADOR, and group members over NewJeans’ return have heightened tensions between fan communities, with some advocating against the comeback or demanding complete separation of activities.
Additionally, other domestic LE SSERAFIM fans recently staged similar truck protests criticizing NewJeans members outside HYBE’s offices.
Both ILLIT and LE SSERAFIM agencies have issued statements addressing the issue of online harassment.
On November 14, Belift Lab stated, “Despite some members being minors, malicious criticism and slander continue through anonymous online communities. We will strengthen monitoring to protect our artists’ rights and take stricter measures against harmful posts.”
