Meanwhile, aespa's appearance on the Kohaku Uta Gassen has been a hot topic.

The petition opposing aespa's appearance in the Kohaku Uta Gassen surpassed 50,000 signatures and became such a hot topic that NHK's public relations department contacted SM to confirm.

"Cannot understand sending aespa to Kohaku on the 80th anniversary of the war's end with an 'A-bomb lamp' incident."
"This year's Kohaku is the 80th anniversary of the war's end, and the host is from Hiroshima. This aespa matter is unacceptable. NHK needs to think a little; this is really wrong."

Furthermore, on the online petition site change.org, a petition campaign titled "We demand the cancellation of aespa's Kohaku appearance" has started, and as of the evening of the 18th, over 57,000 agreements have been gathered, causing a stir.

Regarding this, on November 17th, this paper inquired with the NHK Public Relations Department whether they proposed aespa's appearance at Kohaku knowing that Ningning had purchased a lamp reminiscent of a 'mushroom cloud' and revealed it on a fan app. The person in charge provided the following answer:

"We are aware of the matter pointed out, but after confirming with the agency (SM), we have determined that the member had no intention of trivializing or mocking the atomic bomb victims."

Furthermore, the person in charge stated the following regarding the decision on aespa's Kohaku appearance.

"The decision on whether to appear was made comprehensively by referencing various data from the perspectives of 'this year's activity', 'public support', and 'suitability for the program's planning and production'."
