NewJeans' overreaction crossed the line. Showing an attitude of not accepting the verdict, NewJeans undermined the entire K-pop industry and denied Korea itself. It is as if they are possessed by fighters who have come forward to innovate and reform a collapsed Korean society.

In an interview released by BBC News Korea on the 26th, NewJeans said about the verdict handed down by the 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court on the 21st, "We were all shocked" and "We couldn't believe it."

NewJeans had an interview with TIME before the BBC Korea interview, and the members were even more inflammatory. "We're disappointed in the court ruling," said NewJeans. "Maybe this is the current reality in Korea. But I believe that's why change and growth are necessary. It feels like Korea is trying to turn us into revolutionaries."

They also pointed out problems with the K-pop industry. "There are structural problems. Companies don't see artists as real people, but as products," they said, listing instances of damage they've suffered. However, none of these issues were recognized by the court as grounds for terminating their contracts with ADOR.

NewJeans, regarding the current situation that caused a conflict with ADOR, said, "If this changes the K-pop industry, it will, and if not, it will just be that way. Whether the K-pop industry changes or not, we are really proud of ourselves."
