[theqoo]H.O.T KANGTA TO LEAD SM ENTERTAINMENT'S SMART LABEL... PRODUCING IM SIWAN'S NEW ALBUM

Kangta (SM Entertainment) is launching SMArt, a music label under SM, and will serve as its executive producer.

SMArt aims to encompass a variety of musical genres and continuously expand, and plans to present fresh and sensuous sounds never before heard through differentiated artwork that reinterprets K-pop as a cultural content and optimal producing solutions.

SMArt's first artist is Yim Siwan. SMArt will handle Yim Siwan's album production and producing, and plans to release his first solo album in December and hold a global fan tour in early next year to meet fans closely, so high interest is expected.

Kangta, widely recognized as a first-generation K-pop idol, has served since 2014 as an non-executive director at SM performing in-house creative director duties, and after working as the executive producer of Smashhit, one of the CICs of SM's music publishing subsidiary KREATION MUSIC RIGHTS (KMR), he has launched the new music label SMArt, steadily expanding his capabilities from musician to producer.

As executive producer, Kangta will participate in work on songs by various artists while also discovering and nurturing new songwriters and pouring effort into supporting them, showing his sincere dedication to music for 30 years, so the musical world he will unfold through SMArt is even more anticipated.
