Actor Yoon Seok-hwa, a first-generation theater star, has passed away at the age of 69.
According to the Korean Theater Actors Association on the 19th, Yoon Seokhwa, who had been battling a brain tumor, passed away at around 9 p.m. on the 18th, surrounded by his family.
Born in Seoul in 1956, Yoon Seokhwa debuted in the 1975 play "Honey Taste." He rose to fame in the theater world with roles in "Agnes of God," "Hamlet," and "A Letter to My Daughter."
He underwent surgery for a malignant brain tumor in October 2022, following his performance in "Hamlet" in July 2022. After revealing his illness, his last stage appearance was a five-minute guest appearance in "Toccata" at the LG Arts Center Seoul in 2023.
