[PC stories/KPOP takes] ARE OLDER GEN FANS REALLY BETTER THAN NEWER GEN FANS?

People are always arguing about fans these days being so much worse than 2nd gen fans and I think it's neither entirely true or untrue.

2nd gen boy group fans were NASTY to girl groups. I think we're all aware of what happened to SNSD. Sasaengs were also batsh*t crazy (Yunho poison, sending used period pads, etc.) But honestly? It's not any better now either.

So while 2nd gen fans aren't any better than current fans, the reason why we still got all those interactions and actual interesting personalities/moments is because most idols dgaf. Idols these days apologize for just about anything.

And I'm not saying it's entirely the idols fault (we know companies are forcing/controlling them anyways). I'm just saying kpop moments ain't the way it used to be because idols are MUCH MORE careful and controlled. Not saying 2nd gen idols never apologise for ridiculous things either (eg. taeyeon dating baekhyun), it was just not as much back then.

It's not that older gens have better fans, it's just newer gen fans are getting more and more entitled and everyone is just letting it happen. And for what? The money? You can't convince me the loss is huge enough to turn these idols into mindless robots. Literally almost all the tops groups in Kpop (up till 3rd gen) have had dating "scandals" and they're doing just fine.

I don't think it's going to change soon, but I really hope idols stop giving too much f*cks.

K-pop is genuinly so so so soooo boring these days and companies are just churning similar groups every few months. Since SEA (where kpop is most popular i think) countries are slowly starting to make their own groups and south korea's rep is slowly getting worse internationally, I feel like the kpop downfall is fr happening soon if nothing changes. moment.
