[theqoo] BTS JIN, DONATES 100 MILLION WON TO BUSAN WELFARE CENTER FOR HIS BIRTHDAY
BTS's Jin donated 100 million KRW (approx. 68,222 USD) to the Namgwang Social Welfare Center in Busan on December 1.
This generous contribution was made in anticipation of Jin’s birthday on December 4, to support vulnerable groups in the local community.
On December 3, Namgwang Social Welfare Center CEO Park Do Young stated, “Jin’s donation will be a gift that brings dreams to children and adolescents in the community and hope to underprivileged neighbors.”
Founded in 1945, Namgwang Social Welfare Center celebrates its 80th anniversary this year. Under the slogan “80 Years of Togetherness, Opening the Future Together,” the organization continues to strengthen community contributions and innovate welfare services.
Over the decades, the center has expanded its work across various areas, including child and youth protection, elder care, disability welfare, and community-integrated care. Recently, it has embraced the vision of “welfare for a sustainable future,” proactively responding to the evolving welfare environment.
Jin’s donation will prioritize projects for children and youth, reflecting the historical significance of Namgwang Social Welfare Center’s 80-year legacy, which began with child welfare initiatives.
In particular, given Jin’s consistent interest in nurturing children and adolescents’ talents, the funds will support scholarship programs for underprivileged youth, talent development initiatives, and the “Independent Child Support Program” for children leaving care facilities.
A representative from Namgwang Social Welfare Center expressed gratitude, saying, “We deeply appreciate Jin’s meaningful contribution to our social welfare projects on the organization’s 80th anniversary. This support will greatly empower children and adolescents in Busan to pursue their dreams and build a foundation for independence, while planting seeds of hope for isolated neighbors.”
The representative added, “Moving forward, Namgwang Social Welfare Center will continue to dedicate itself to supporting the dreams of children and youth and caring for the lives of our neighbors.”
