In a video delivered to Ilgan Sports on the 16th, Park Narae said, “Hello, this is comedian Park Narae,” adding, “I am taking seriously the concern and fatigue I have caused many people due to the recent issues raised.”
She continued, “Because of these matters, I have voluntarily stepped down from all of the programs I was appearing on,” and explained, “I made this decision because I did not want to cause further confusion or burden to the production teams and my colleagues.”
She also stated, “There are parts of the currently raised issues where the facts need to be calmly verified, so legal procedures are currently underway,” adding, “During this process, I will not make any additional public statements or explanations.” She explained further, “I believe this matter is not about personal emotions or relationships, but something that needs to be objectively verified through official procedures,” and said, “This decision was not made to blame anyone or assign responsibility, but to remove emotion and personal judgment and leave the matter to proper procedures.”
Park Narae said, “Although many stories are circulating right now, I do not want anyone else to be hurt or for things to escalate into unnecessary disputes. That is why I plan to suspend all activities for the time being and focus on resolving this matter. I will reflect on my responsibilities and attitude in my position. Matters that require time will be calmly handled through proper procedures.” She concluded, “I am grateful to the many people who have cared for me, and in order to avoid creating further controversy, I will not make any additional comments related to this issue after this video.”
Previously, Park Narae’s former managers, identified as Mrs. A and Mrs. B, filed an application for a provisional seizure of property against her on the 3rd and announced their intention to seek damages. They claimed that Park Narae committed various illegal acts, including aggravated ass**lt, workplace harassment, SH, proxy prescription, and delayed payment of personal expenses.
In response, Park Narae’s side stated on the 5th that “after receiving their severance pay, the former managers demanded an additional amount equivalent to 10% of the company’s previous year’s revenue,” adding that “the requested amount continued to increase, eventually reaching several hundred million won.” Park Narae’s side subsequently filed a complaint against Mrs. A and Mrs. B on charges of blackmail.
After Park Narae filed the complaint, Mrs. A and Mrs. B also filed criminal complaints late that night at Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, accusing her of aggravated ass**lt, defamation by spreading false information, and violation of the Information and Communications Network Act. They additionally reported her for embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, claiming she had used company funds for personal purposes.
In addition to these allegations, Park Narae recently became embroiled in suspicions of illegal medical practices after reports surfaced that she received IV injections from a person referred to as a “IV aunt.” Park Narae’s side explained that they believed the individual to be a licensed medical professional.
Amid the exchange of criminal complaints and accusations, a face-to-face meeting between both sides took place in the early morning hours of the 8th. Afterward, Park Narae posted on social media that morning, saying, “The misunderstandings and distrust have been resolved,” while also stating that she would suspend broadcasting activities until everything is fully settled. However, former manager Mrs. A countered this claim, saying, “It’s true we talked for three hours, but there was no apology and no settlement.”
