The so-called “IV aunt” A, who is accused of performing illegal medical procedures on TV personality Park Narae, has spoken out to claim her innocence. She emphasized that she is a medical professional, but did not mention whether she holds a valid medical license in South Korea, so the controversy is expected to continue.

On the 7th, A posted a long statement on her social media along with a photo of herself wearing a doctor’s gown.

She claimed, “Around 12–13 years ago, I studied very hard in Inner Mongolia, China, and at the Inner Mongolia Baogang Medical University Hospital, I became the youngest professor ever, among both locals and foreigners.”

She continued, “With the support of the hospital director, the head of plastic surgery, and the active help of the Inner Mongolia party secretary, I was even able to bring a Korean plastic surgery center there,” adding detailed descriptions of her career, including doing broadcast interviews and lectures as the center director.

A, who said she continued giving interviews and lectures as a director, added, “At the end of 2019, COVID-19 happened, and I had no choice but to give up everything in Inner Mongolia. My body and mind were in pain.”

She then addressed Park Narae’s former manager, who raised the allegations: “Manager, do you know the life I’ve lived? What do you know about me, to turn me into gossip?”

Previously, Dispatch reported allegations from Park Narae’s former managers that A had been illegally administering IV drips to Park Narae in an Ilsan officetel.

Reports also said that A allegedly brought prescription-required medication without prescriptions, and even accompanied Park Narae to Taiwan for the 2023 MBC I Live Alone filming, where she administered IVs on site, adding fuel to the scandal.

Park Narae’s side explained, “We understood that A had a medical license, and what she administered was a simple nutritional IV, not narcotics like propofol.” They also denied the antidepressant allegations, saying that when Park Narae complained of claustrophobia, A simply handed her medication she already had, denying illegal procedures and drug use.

However, although A emphasized her impressive career in Inner Mongolia, she did not clearly state whether she holds a license that allows her to legally practice medicine in South Korea. As a result, the controversy is unlikely to die down anytime soon.

Comedian Park Narae plans to release an additional statement regarding allegations of power trip raised by her former managers and suspicions of illegal medical procedures performed by her “IV auntie.” 

On the evening of the 7th, a representative for Park Narae stated to OSEN, “We are currently drafting an additional statement. While we cannot confirm the exact release time yet, it is being prepared so it can be made available tomorrow (the 8th) as soon as it is finalized. As far as we know, there are no changes to tomorrow's filming schedule for ‘I Live Alone’ at this time.”
