The Netflix original series ‘Physical: Asia’ is returning with a spin-off.
The new season, titled ‘Physical: Welcome to Mongolia,’ features the Mongolian team—who faced off against the Republic of Korea (ROK) in a heated final—inviting the ROK team to their homeland for a special journey of friendship.
This spin-off centers on the journey of Gree (Kim Dong-hyeon), captain of the ROK team, and Orkhonbayar Bayarsaikhan, captain of the Mongolian team, as they reunite to fulfill their promises to each other. The cast includes Gree, Amotti, Orkhonbayar Bayarsaikhan, and Ochir.
‘Physical: Asia’ has become a national sensation in Mongolia, fueling high anticipation for the spin-off. Notably, Orkhonbayar Bayarsaikhan personally crafted the travel itinerary, introducing viewers to local hotspots and restaurants enjoyed by Mongolians—rather than the typical tourist attractions.
Highlights include special training methods taught by Orkhonbayar Bayarsaikhan, a traditional wrestling champion; vast grasslands where a thousand horses run free; and authentic Mongolian home-cooked meals prepared by Ochir, a former Cirque du Soleil performer. The show also teases the appearance of a surprise guest, heightening viewers’ curiosity.
In the teaser video released on the 3rd, Gree and Amotti share their excitement for the upcoming trip to Mongolia during a video call with Ochir. Ochir introduces the travel plans, saying, “You can ride horses and try archery,” and personally invites the ROK team to his home. Gree and Amotti respond with playful banter, saying, “Let’s stay up and have fun for 24 hours straight,” and “We’ll sleep next year.”
‘Physical: Welcome to Mongolia’ consists of four episodes. Episodes 1 and 2 will be released on Netflix on December 24, with episodes 3 and 4 following on December 31.
