The NewJeans fandom, "Bunnies," has issued an official statement strongly criticizing HYBE and ADOR for the termination of member Danielle's exclusive contract and departure from the group. In a statement released on the 29th, the fans characterized the incident as "malicious tyranny intended to intentionally disband NewJeans" and declared that they would use all available means to respond.

Did you bring NewJeans in only to tear NewJeans apart?

We strongly condemn HYBE, ADOR, and Bang Sihyuk for attempting to dismantle NewJeans as a complete five-member group.

NewJeans is Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.

Despite all NewJeans members expressing their intention to return together as a full group, HYBE and ADOR notified only one member of contract termination. This is a violent act aimed at unilaterally dismantling the five-member NewJeans, and a deceptive act that mocks the court, the parties involved, and the fans alike.

Until now, ADOR told the court and the media that it was preparing NewJeans’ full-length album and concerts, saying it was merely waiting for their return. Based on this relationship of trust, the court recognized the validity of the exclusive contracts. The NewJeans members—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein—respected the ruling and stated that they would all return together. Fans respected the decision of the five members and, as the NewJeans fandom, supported them while anticipating a successful full-group comeback.

However, immediately after the members declared their collective return, ADOR abruptly changed its stance, dragged things out for more than 40 days, and then selectively issued termination notices in an apparent attempt to deliberately split the group. Was ADOR CEO Lee Do-kyung’s appeal to the court to bring NewJeans in really meant to tear NewJeans apart?

NewJeans’ strength lies in the fact that all five members, each with distinct charms, create perfect balance and harmony as a team. The decision to dismantle the full lineup of a group that is the company’s only signed artist and has driven the company’s profits with its high IP value cannot be explained by any normal judgment of an entertainment company.

This is malicious tyranny by HYBE and Bang Sihyuk, ADOR’s largest shareholder and the party with real decision-making power. Bang Sihyuk has openly discriminated against NewJeans, referring only to groups he created as the “one team” while excluding them.

Dismantling NewJeans against the fierce opposition of fans and the wishes of the members themselves damages NewJeans’ value, tramples on artistic freedom, and clips their wings. This will remain the worst precedent in the history of K-pop.

“NewJeans” is the culmination of memories and bonds created together by the five members—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein—and their fans. We strongly condemn those who seek to dismantle NewJeans. HYBE, ADOR, Bang Si-hyuk, and his subordinate Lee Do-kyung have proven themselves unqualified and incapable as NewJeans’ agency.
