[PC stories/KPOP takes] BLACKPINK WAS WASTED POTENTIAL

When blackpink debuted they had so much character and charisma especially in their performances but as YG kept holding them back from having group releases, having concerts and just send them to fashion shows i believe their passion dwindled.

if they had been under a different company or if YG had encouraged them to be way more involved in their work from early on like they do with their male idols (produce, write, compose and maybe even throw in some ideas regarding concepts) they would've flourished much better as true artists instead of relying on what YG taught them. out of the 4, jennie's solo release is whose i like best. the rest have no personality with theirs. rose's album was a snooze fest and reminded me too much of TS i wish she kept the same vibes as apt because she really fits pop rock, lisa's album didn't wow me or anything but i liked elastigirl, new woman and rockstar and as for jisoo earthquake was ok i don't remember what the other songs sound like on her album.

 
i wonder what could've been if they were under BIGHIT or KQ (mainly BIGHIT for the budget and if they weren't as toxic as they were now hopefully) they would've had really interesting concepts, diverse discography, oppurtunity to participate in their work and maybe even have their own world view or under CUBE or RBW where they could take the lead with their work.
