[PC stories/Kpop takes] THE LONGEVITY OF 4TH GEN GROUPS

I honestly think the "7 year curse" (kpop groups disbanding after being active for 7 years) has become a thing of the past for successful groups from big companies. Some 4th gen groups like TXT, Itzy, Ateez and Stray Kids have already renewed their contracts and I can't imagine other successful groups like IVE, aespa, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM or NMIXX not renewing. Which groups can you see having really long and consistent careers as a group and which ones do you think will eventually focus more on solo careers or slow down with the releases and tours after some time passes?

For example, in my opinion, Stray Kids is definitely here to stay, the members really seem to love what they do and care for the group.

I don't want this to be too long because I've noticed some people who comment just read the title and not the whole pc story if it's "longer" so I won't talk about other groups, but I expect to see other people's takes on them in the comments.

On the other hand, unfortunately many 4th gen groups that aren't very popular have already disbanded and I feel like the gap between the big companies and smaller companies will just keep on getting bigger and bigger.

Also, I think more and more groups will start avoiding "official disbandment" and just take longer breaks between comebacks like many SM groups already do. Blackpink is also an example of this - I see people online that think they will disband after this next (postponed many times) comeback and some believe Deadline will be their last tour, but I don't think they will ever officially disband. Why officially disband if fans would consider them an active group even if they took a 10 year hiatus?
Some officially disbanded groups (for example Gfriend for their 10th anniversary) have had comebacks as well, so I think that the line between disbanding and taking long breaks is blurring recently.
