[PC stories/KPOP takes] WHERE DO YOU SEE THE FUTURE OF K-POP GROUPS?

As a fan, you’re likely to know more about a certain group over people who aren’t generally that interested in them and just for fun, I would like to know if you have any ideas to which direction your favourite K-Pop group could take in the future, in terms of their career/music? I think it would be nice to get some insight on different groups from a fan’s perspective and would be interesting to see if there are overlaps/differentiations from the same fandom. (No trolls please 🙏)

Riize - As they’ve stepped out of their rookie era, I think they’re in the stage of working hard to establish themselves as a group which makes complete sense. And part of that I think is the aim to release at least one mega hit (like Growl as an example) that they’ll be known for in years to come and it’s definitely not too late. They already have some songs that were well received by the public such as Get A Guitar and Love 119 to build things up and now they just need the right song and timing that could catapult them into bigger success. In terms of music, as incompetent SM may be sometimes, they did a really good job in regards to the production of their first album. If I were to give a suggestion, I think it would be good for the members to have more involvement into the creative (behind the scenes) section, giving a few ideas here and there as a start. I’m aware that some of the members can play instruments (Wonbin, Anton and Eunseok) and Anton is particularly interested in producing so we can hope for his participation in their future songs. Shotaro and Wonbin have also shared ideas in their choreography which is good to see and that they’re clearly capable of sharing good inputs.

Black Pink - I don’t think I need to share too much because everyone is pretty much updated to everything they do. But they’re currently in the middle of the Deadline tour and because I don’t think they’ll have another group tour until another 3 yrs minimum, they should really push it as much as they can by visiting as many countries including South America. So far, there has been no announcements of new dates but I have a feeling there’s negotiations going on. The members have reassured many times that they’ll continue as a group for a long time but I guess it’s just a question whether that will be with YG or not. I think if they stay, it’ll probably be because of the really good relationship they’ve built with Teddy and other producers/staff so in a way, it’s more comfortable for them. Whereas, after the tour, I think every member will definitely go back to building their solo careers, you can really see their passion for it. Lisa recently signed with a touring company so the solo tours are also on the way. As long as they get to continue to explore creatively, I’m all for it. Unfortunately, I don’t think they had much time with their upcoming album although I could be wrong but it is an absolute wish for the members to have full control of their future LP album.
