It makes me realize celebrities really do make a f*ck ton of money
I looked it up, and apparently you have to earn around 80 billion won (~55M USD) to end up paying about 20 billion won in taxes. Crazyㅋㅋㅋ
People will probably say "well, he's top-tier celebrities, so obviously," but even if je's top-tier, the fact that he makes that much is still;;;
Meanwhile, an average person might not even save 5 billion won (~3.4 M USD) over their entire lifetime
And I already knew celebrities earn a lot, especially after seeing that each member of NewJeans reportedly received around 5.2 billion won (~3.6M USD) in annual settlement payments, but seeing the real numbers like this makes it feel way more unreal

For real, the income structure of celebrities feels completely broken. Either it should be reformed, or something like Japan's seniority-based pay system should exist

Regular people get married, work themselves to the bone their whole lives, and maybe manage to make around 2 billion won by growing their money through real estate. Meanwhile, someone else evades 20 billion won in taxes... sigh

It really feels like a celebrity republic. The constant idolization is exhausting

They complain about paying a lot of taxes, but honestly, if I were earning enough money to owe that much in taxes, I'd probably pay it with a huge smile. I'd love to experience what it feels like to make that much money in the first place. But the people who already have everything somehow end up being even greedier

And if the tax evasion itself is 20 billion won... seriously, how much money did they even make..?
