#1. Cha Eunwoo, the beginning of the tax evasion allegations lies with the corporation “Chas Gallery Co., Ltd.”
On July 4, 2019, the company was established in Dongan-gu, Anyang City. The CEO was Cha Eunwoo. The internal director was Choi OO (his mother), and the auditor was Lee OO (his father).
In June 2020, Chas Gallery moved its registered address from Anyang to Tongjin-eup, Gimpo City. Two years later, it relocated again, from Gimpo to Buleun-myeon, Ganghwa County. This location is known as an eel restaurant operated by Cha Eunwoo’s parents.
Although the name was different, the corporate purpose was the same: management business.
The hint lies in the structure of a limited liability company (LLC), it allows the company to be operated freely without external oversight.
Cha Eunwoo’s alleged tax evasion amount is said to be approximately 20 billion won (13M USD).
If we assume a corporate tax rate of 20%, the taxable profit would be at least 100 billion won (69M USD).
(This figure represents profit after deducting operating costs such as labor and rent. Actual revenue may have been significantly higher.)
However, Cha Eunwoo’s family-owned companies are not required to make public disclosures.
They are also not subject to external audits.
Major decisions can be finalized simply through agreement among the company members (mother, father, younger sibling).
Asset transactions (such as real estate or housing purchases) can also be conducted without being disclosed.
Despite all this, Cha Eunwoo went on to establish yet another family company.
In 2022, when L&C was created, he was in the middle of contract renewal discussions.
In 2024, when The Annie was founded, he was actively promoting as the face of the agency.
Did he feel that Fantagio’s support was insufficient?
If Cha Eunwoo’s mother was brought onto filming sets, the family company would only need to receive service fees from Fantagio.
There would be no justification for receiving Cha Eun-woo’s personal appearance fees as well.
This is precisely why the National Tax Service is attempting to collect 20 billion won in additional taxes.
6. As expected, if your entire family is this way, there's no hope. But how did they not get caught??? They left their traces everywhere too
