Seohyun will appear as a special collaborator at the "Soul Philharmonic Orchestra's 8th Regular Concert," to be held at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on March 13th at 8 PM.
In this performance, Seohyun will perform Vittorio Monti's famous piece "Csárdás," a work that interweaves powerful rhythms and heartfelt melodies, captivating the audience with the allure of classical music.
What makes this performance even more special is that Seohyun is a hobbyist, having only been learning the violin for a little over five months. Requiring the affectionate nickname "Virinist(?)" (a combination of violin and child), Seohyun is determined to showcase the pure passion of someone who truly enjoys music, rather than the perfection of a professional musician.
Seohyun's participation this time was made possible by her sympathy for the "Soul Philharmonic Orchestra," comprised of classical music enthusiasts rather than professional musicians. The reason behind her decision to collaborate is her hope that by performing on stage, she can lower the barrier to classical music and familiarize a wider audience with the genre.
Seohyun said, “I hope that through my challenge, many people will feel closer to classical music and discover new joys,” and added, “I want to let people know that classical music, like popular music, is ‘music for all of us’ that anyone can easily and enjoyably enjoy.”
Although she began playing the violin as a hobby, Seohyun is putting in her best effort for this performance, collaborating with the orchestra. The violin melodies she plays are expected to bring a new charm to pop music fans and a refreshing and pure energy to classical music enthusiasts.
A representative of the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra said, “We expect that Seohyun’s participation will lower the threshold for classical performances,” and “It will be a very special stage filled with a pure heart that loves music.”
Seohyun, who has gone beyond a simple personal challenge and taken on the role of a bridge between the classical genre and the rest of the world, is showing off her diverse talents as an artist, not just an actress. All eyes are on what delightful surprises she will deliver on stage this time.
This performance, conducted by Jo Sang-wook and featuring violinists Baek Ju-young and Seo Hyun, will feature a diverse program including Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, Marquez's Danzón No. 2, and Vivaldi's Spring from The Four Seasons.
