Microsoft founder Bill Gates, embroiled in allegations that he befriended billionaire s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein and contracted a s****lly transmitted disease through an extramarital affair, expressed regret in a media interview.

In an interview with Australian media aired on the 4th (local time), Gates stated, “I regret every moment I spent with him [Epstein],” adding, “I apologize for that behavior.”

While acknowledging he first met Epstein in 2011 and had dinner with him several times over three years, he denied visiting Epstein's Caribbean island or having relationships with women.

Gates explained, “My interest was always in the fact that he knew a lot of wealthy people and could persuade them to make donations,” adding, “Looking back, that was a bad choice.”

He also refuted as “false” allegations raised by the ‘Epstein Papers’ released late last month, suggesting he contracted an STD from Russian women and tried to hide it from his then-wife Melinda.

He claimed he never sent any emails containing such content, asserting that Epstein likely fabricated them to attack him.

He stated, “I regret ever getting to know Epstein, and spending time with him was foolish,” but added, “As time passes, it will become clear that I had no connection to the matters that have surfaced as problems.”

However, his ex-wife Melinda, who divorced him in 2021, pointed out that Gates still has unanswered questions regarding his relationship with Epstein.

In an interview with NPR, Melinda stated that the Epstein documents “brought back memories of a very painful time during our marriage,” adding that “the remaining questions are something my ex-husband (Bill Gates) needs to address.”

Melinda described the release and scrutiny of the Epstein files as “a process for society as a whole to confront its responsibility,” expressing her hope that justice would be served in some form for the victims.
