According to Donga.com's investigation, Lee Jongsuk has been cast as the male lead Tae Iseop in the drama adaptation of ‘Iseop's Romance,’ set to appear in the upcoming production.
‘Iseop's Romance’ is a wild office romance between Tae Iseop, who can't be bothered to do anything, and Kang Min-kyung, who must accomplish everything. It depicts the romance between Tae Iseop, a third-generation chaebol heir who is perfect at everything except love, and Kang Minkyung, the perfect protagonist dubbed TK Group's secret weapon. Originating from the web novel of the same name (by author Kim Eon-hee), ‘Iseop's Romance’ is being reborn as a drama following its webtoon adaptation.
Lee Jongsuk will take on the role of the male lead, Tae Iseop. This marks his first romantic lead role in about seven years since ‘Romance Is a Bonus Book’. While his previous work ‘Seocho-dong’ also contained romantic elements, it was fundamentally a legal drama or coming-of-age story. After exploring various genres for a while, Lee Jongsuk returns to his signature romantic roles through ‘Iseop's Romance’.
Multiple actresses are under consideration for the female lead role of Kang Minkyung, with discussions ongoing.
