On the 20th and 21st, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the Seoul Metropolitan Government will simultaneously illuminate 15 of Seoul’s iconic landmarks, including Sebit Island and Cheonggyecheon Stream, with special lighting to celebrate BTS’s comeback. The plan is to offer citizens and tourists a unique visual experience by transforming the entire city into a giant concert stage through these nighttime illuminations.
Additionally, from April 6 to 19, a 500-meter stretch of Cheonggyecheon Stream, from Oganseu Bridge to Budul Bridge, will be transformed into the “Arirang Light Walk,” a promenade featuring BTS-themed symbols. This is designed to allow fans to experience both the atmosphere of Seoul and the excitement of BTS’s comeback even after the concert.
A special fountain show will also take place on the Han River. From the 21st to the 22nd, a fountain performance themed around BTS music will be held at the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain on Banpo Bridge, showcasing a nighttime spectacle that combines LED lighting, music, and a fountain display stretching over 1 km in length.
In addition, welcome banners will be hung on streetlights along Sejong-daero, and welcome messages for BTS fans will be displayed on 10 urban media facades. Welcome messages translated into seven languages (Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai) will be posted at major tourist attractions and traditional markets, and tourist information brochures will also be provided.
Festivals and events linked to performances will also take place throughout Seoul. The Seoul Spring Festival will be held along the Han River from April 10 to May 5, featuring media shows, hands-on programs, and the opening performance of the Han River Drone Light Show. Additionally, the rooftops of seven Han River Bus piers will be open to the public, and unlimited one-day passes for the Han River Bus will be available from March 20 to 21.
Special viewing experiences are also available at Seoul’s premier nightscape spots. From the floating gas balloon “Seoul Moon” to “N Seoul Tower” and the “Lotte World Tower Observatory,” visitors can enjoy a three-dimensional view of the lighting displays spread across the city.
In addition, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza will host a music light show and live performances from April 6 to 12, while the city center will feature a concentrated lineup of K-culture experience programs, cultural performances, and outdoor events. The Seoul Metropolitan Government also plans to develop and operate a K-pop themed walking tour connecting BTS music video filming locations and entertainment company headquarters.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has produced a calendar and a tourism guidebook containing information on tourist attractions, festivals, and performances, which will be distributed starting today through tourism information centers and official tourism platforms.
Kim Myung-ju, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Tourism and Sports Bureau, stated, “We have prepared a variety of attractions and sights so that Seoul itself can become a cultural destination beyond just the concerts.” She added, “While prioritizing safety and ensuring thorough preparations, the Seoul Metropolitan Government will actively support global fans in experiencing Seoul’s diverse charms through various cultural and tourism content linked to the concerts.”
