[PC stories/KPOP takes] TIRED OF THE WAY KPOP STANS TREAT FASHION WEEKS AND LUXURY BRANDS

Why is every fashion week turned into a competition among kpop fans on social media? it's always "this idol had more mentions" or "that idol generated more EMV" etc. every fashion week when I enter twitter I inevitably see fandoms arguing about who is the real human prada and human chanel and human whatever, even though I try to ignore fanwars as much as I can.

Why is this stuff so important to people and why does it sometimes feel like an idol being "the main event" of a fashion week is more important to some stans than the quality of their music? I don't get people vicariously living through an idol's achievements and i also don't like how materialistic and capitalistic the obsession with luxury items and brand ambassadorships is. it really isn't about the music at all for some fans I guess.

A lot of idols I like are ambassadors for luxury brands, but during fashion weeks I just admire the looks and move on with my day so it annoys me when i come across tweets comparing some stupid stats that only the marketing departments of brands they represent and idols themselves should care about.
